Karate
(The Empty Hand Way)
As one of the ultimate methods of self-defense, karate specializes in punching, kicking, blocking, coordination, balance and footwork. Our style is Okinawan Shuri-Ryu, a very strong and diversified system that combines traditional karate with self defense and jui jitsu. The style encourages students to develop their own personalities while assimilating the principles and techniques.
Jui Jitsu
(The Gentle Art)
Shinto-yoshin-Kai Jui Jitsu is an ancient Japanese art that includes rolling, falling, throwing, joint locks, grappling, leverage and using an opponents strength against himself. We teach jui jitsu as part of our karate program. Together the two arts form a comprehensive self defense foundation.
Children's Program
We offer a unique approach to the martial arts that teaches children a practical application of Karate and Jui Jitsu in a fun and motivating environment. The emphasis here is on character building, confidence and discipline. Three different children's classes are offered. A kids class for ages 7-12, a toddlers class class for ages 4-6 and a parent/child class where parents can participate with their child.
Classes consist of performing traditional techniques, learning through play, stranger awareness and ethics / values teaching. Parents will see improvement in areas such as concentration, awareness and emotional stability as their child's self respect and confidence grows. The program encourages students to reach their full potential as they prepare for life's challenges.
Adult Program
(Ages 13 and Older)
Our adult program blends traditional Karate with self defense and Jui Jitsu. Participants are encouraged to challenge themselves, cultivate a positive attitude and improve their physical, emotional and spiritual health. Classes are taught in a relaxed, yet disciplined environment that promotes increased flexibility, self confidence and stress relief.
