An Ethical Code of Conduct

(Bushido)

Ethics is central to martial arts and important to a child's mature growth and development. Our classes include teachings on virtues that are taken from two sources: Bushido - The Warrior's Code of Conduct (from Japan) and Chivalry - the Medieval System of Knighthood. We believe in mentoring, modeling and bestowing virtues and maturity as children grow older and move up in rank. Parents are encouraged to participate.

American Budokai International

Southern Oregon Martial Arts Academy is a member of American Budokai International (ABI). This is the "parent" organization for a variety of martial arts including our own styles of Shuri-Ryu Karate and Shinto Yoshin Kai Jui Jitsu. ABI provides traditional martial arts training, experienced leadership, continuing educational seminars and grade sanctioning (promotions) for all of it's members. We strongly support ABI and encourage participation by our students.
